Going up to London to meet a friend for lunch so thought I'd share my outfit with you guys:).

Matte Top Coat

Quite a while ago I met up with a friend and we had a day out shopping and having lunch.

We went into Boots because she was looking for a matte black nail varnish. We looked everywhere but couldn't find it so she asked one of the sales assistants if they had it. She was told that there was no such thing as a matte black nail varnish but that there was a top coat that made any nail varnish turn matte when you applied it. 

So she decided to get it and me being someone that has to have everything wanted to get it too. The only problem was that the last one had been taken by my friend. So I just said never mind and forgot about it. 

A couple of days later I was in another Boots and I remembered, so I picked it up and was eager to try it.

My thoughts:

The first thing I thought was that it was quite expensive for a top coat ( I know it's supposed to mattify and everything but £4.95 is still quite steep).

So I applied it over my black nail varnish and I have to say that I was impressed how quickly it dried. It also was impressive how it mattified the black (I had had my doubts).

The downside to it is that (for me) the matte effect does not last very long. Maybe a day or so which is disappointing considering the price and it also states on the bottle that it lasts up to 10 days. Well I definitely haven't found that.

I will keep on using it because it does give a nice unique effect to your nails, however it definitely wasn't one of my best buys and I probably won't be repurchasing it when/if it runs out.

So just be aware that if you were/are thinking of buying it, it probably won't have a very long lasting matte effect.

I have heard that Essie nail polish does a clear matte coat but it costs around £8 and if it lasts like the Rimmel one I'm not too sure I would brush of the fact that is isn't very good as easily as I have this one. 

Tell me have any of you used the Rimmel one? Did you find the same problem as me or did you think it lasted a good amount of time?

Also if anyone has got or tried out the Essie one let me know what it is like, I would love to know. Just leave me a comment :)

Chameleon Colour Change

I just wanted to chat to you guys about this nail varnish that I picked up the other day. 

It is by Barry M and what I thought was just a normal metallic nail varnish. However it is anything but normal. 

As you may be able to see in the bottle it looks metallic grey, but when you apply it to the nails it comes out blue and one can just leave it like that if they want to. I, however always apply a clear top coat and as I found out when you put it over this specific nail varnish it changes colour. You should be able to see this in the picture above. 

I wasn't too sure about it when I first applied it, but I'm warming to it now and am glad I discovered this nail  varnish. 

Tell me have any of you tried this out? If yes, what are your thoughts?

Hand care

A few days ago I noticed that my hands where looking and feeling a little worse for wear. This got me thinking and I realised that I hadn't really been taking care of them. 

It's silly really, because it only takes a second to moisturise your hands and it makes such a difference.

My hands were and are still very dry because of the cold weather, so I've decided that from tomorrow I'm going to put in the effort to moisturise them whenever I can.

Another way to take care of your hands is to keep them clean and it is so easy to do so. All you have to do is carry a hand gel around with you, that way if there isn't the possibility of washing your hands with soap and water you can still be sure that you're keeping the germs down to a minimum. 

So there are two easy steps (that I have neglected :S)  to keep your hands clean and healthy looking.

Today I did a spot of naughty shopping (oopsy) so my outfit was very casual, however I wanted to share it with you anyway:).

Disco Pants

If you read my wishlist you will know that the American Apparel disco pants have been on there for a while. You will also know that I finally went and bought them the other day.

The first thing I have to say is that they are sooo hard to get into, I took about 10 minutes to try them on. Did any of you find that? 

Anyways when I finally got them on I knew that I wasn't going to leave the shop without them. I really liked the way they made my waist, bum and legs look and they didn't feel uncomfortable either. 

Yesterday was the first time I actually wore them properly and I am very happy with my purchase and don't regret getting them. 

They are very comfortable and even though they look and are skin tight they still allow you to move around freely. 

Another great thing about them is that you can wear them on any occasion. You can wear them casually like I did yesterday (Have a look at my outfit that I wore yesterday here) or you can wear them on a night out with heels and a pretty top. 

I am definitely 100 % happy with my choice in buying them and think I will be wearing them a lot. 

So keep an eye out for lots of OOTDs and OOTEs featuring my disco pants.
